How much will a website cost?

We charge up to £50 an hour for all our work, but because each website we develop is unique, not based on a template, it is not possible to say here and now, for example, that redesigning your website will cost £200 or £2,000.

A guaranteed maximum cost

One of the main fears clients have is that, by charging per hour, they have no sight of what work is actually done.

We state, at the outset, how long each task is likely to take and guarantee* that whatever we said the maximum cost for the work in its entirety will not be exceeded.

Put simply, that means if we think the work needed to build you a website would cost, say £500 (i.e. 10 hours), but it actually takes 15 hours, we would only charge £500 for the work.

No markup on fixed costs such as Web Hosting

If you want us to organise web hosting for you, we will do so, but we won't mark up the price. We do have a preferred provider (with whom we host our own sites) but if hosting costs £8.99 a month, that's what you'll pay.

Obviously we'll charge for our time in setting up the host, but our charge is distinct from that of the host and we won't kick up a fuss if you choose to organise hosting yourself.

Photography

As you're probably aware modern websites generally have lots of photos. There are a number of places we can source stock photos some of which charge. We will attempt to obtain the majority of photos free of charge. However where you require a specific photo there willl be a cost attached. BS1 Web Design also has an exclusive agreement with a photographer who will take specific photos of you and your business if you require for the same hourly rate (minimum charge 1 hour) as we agree for your website.
